버려지는 헌것은 썩지 못하고 불쾌한 존재로 남아 우리의 삶을 오래도록 위협한다. 시민은 이제
미래를 통찰하며 스스로 지속가능한 변화의 주역이 되기를 원한다. 집은 시민의 단독 무대다.
DDP 오픈큐레이팅 vol.16 《Recycling Oriented Society》는 폐기물을 활용한 신소재로 한 채의 집을 디자인한다. 새로운 집을 지으며 나오는 골재와 나무 부스러기, 식생활에서 생성되는 채소와 곡식의 껍질, 사용하다 이가 빠지고 깨져버리는 도자기. 거대한 흐름을 만들며 끊임없이 버려지는 것들을 우리의 삶에 다시 들인다. 전시의 슬로건 '좋은 생산, 좋은 소비, 좋은 버림'은 선한 재료와 공정을 통해 생산이 의미 있는 사용으로 이어지고, 이는 다시 참된 버림으로 연결됨을 제시한다.
전시는 기존 원료의 대안이 될 수 있는 폐기물 신소재의 무한한 가능성을 나눈다. ROS(Recycling Oriented Society)라는 지속가능한 주거 문화를 통해 집이 단순한 거주 공간이 아닌 우리가 지향하는 삶의 방향이자 집합체임을 이야기한다.
A home is the life of a citizen. Sleek furniture and necessaries are made every day to enrich life. Old things thrown away every day remain rotten and unpleasant—threatening our lives for a long time. Citizens have now gained insight into the future and want to become the protagonists of sustainable change themselves. A home is the solo stage of a citizen.
DDP Open Curating vol.16 “Recycling Oriented Society” designs a house with new materials using waste. Aggregates and wood shavings from the construction of new houses, the husks of vegetables and grains produced in our diet, and ceramics that fall out of use and break. It creates a great flow and puts the constantly abandoned things back into our lives. The exhibition slogan "Good Production, Good Consumption, and Good Disposal" suggest that good materials and processes lead to meaningful production and thus lead to proper disposal.
The exhibition shares the infinite possibilities of new waste materials that can be an alternative to existing raw materials. A sustainable housing culture called Recycling Oriented Society (ROS) tells us that homes are not just residential spaces—but a way of life and a collective that we aim for.
